restaurant; Johnson City, TX

It appears that this place was a restaurant at some time in its history, though from its current appearance, I would guess that "gourmet" was at the other end of the spectrum in the food continuum. Johnson City is, of course, the birthplace of President Lyndon B. This area is on the seedier west side of town. We just had to stop and shoot some photographs around the intersection.

What attracted my attention about this wall was that the sun was at such an angle that it enhanced the modeling, and every ripple in the surface looked like a mountain. The windows help complete the pattern.

I'm not sure what's going on here. This rack was in a side room at the Yuengling Brewery, obviously for the use of the employees. It is not clear whether the workers must wear special shoes while in the plant, or if these sneaks are for recreational use and Yuenglings provides a storage space. I'm guessing it's the former. Indeed, these sneaks may be the "special shoes." It's an interesting array, however.

This field is across Lime Kiln Rd from our old place in Maryland. Early morning fog over the field was eerie and beautiful, silhouetting the trees and creating a deeply forboding mood. It didn't matter if the field was fallow, or if it was planted in corn, or soy beans, or grain, the feel was the same.

The shot is one of my old Kodachromes.

Joan was in some shop in Leesburg, so I was relaxing on a bench along the street. As usual, my eye wanders in search of an image, and when I looked up I became fascinated by the patterns created by these power lines and the pole structure. Now why would anyone want to photograph power lines?
